Eats On The Streets – Tuscany
Four Regions in Four Weeks – A taste of Italy from North to South
“First we eat, then we do everything else.”
This is the heart of Italian culture, and it is our pleasure to invite you to dine with the Bel & Brio family this August as we explore the Italian way of life. You will surely find yourself in “La Bella Vita”, through authentic Italian cooking styles and flavours, express from regional Italy. On the agenda for the month, we are taking your palate for a tour across four different regions of Italy; namely, Lombardy, Tuscany, Lazio, and Sicily. Most of our chefs have roots in these regions, and they are excited to introduce you to the flavours of their heritage, brought to you with true sentiment, and lots of love!
The Wholesome Cuisine of Tuscany – 14thand 15th of August
Tuscan food is based on the Italian idea of cucina povera or “poor cooking.” A concept that started very literally, it encouraged simple, hearty meals that are inexpensive and could easily be made in large amounts. Today it remains largely the same – these days by choice, and strategies aside. Elaborate seasonings and complicated techniques are not relevant in traditional Tuscan cuisine. Instead, it celebrates simplicity and natural flavours through fresh, high-quality ingredients.
